About Me:
In August of 2007 I purchased a Gammill Statler Stitcher and now over 300 quilts later I have no regrets!! I love making quilt tops! I really dislike the struggle to quilt them with a standard home sewing machine.I'm learning by doing, lots of practice, books and instructional DVDs. In October 2007, I traveled to Texas for training at Linda's Electric Quilters - a business started by Linda Taylor, a well known expert and educator in machine quilting techniques. In September 2008, I went to Missouri for two days of training with Linda Taylor at the Gammill Headquarters. In Columbia MO, I had a day of training with Paul Statler and another day of training with pattern designer, Kim Diamond, at the Statler Stitcher Headquarters. In June 2010 I am returning to Columbia, MO for a 5-day Statler Stitcher conference. I am signed up for approximately 20 hours of classes with some outstanding longarm quilters from around the country.
I try to keep a sampling of my quilts on display in my studio. In October 2009, I was part of the Ithaca Art Trail which allowed visitors to come my studio on two open weekends where I did quilting demonstrations and had samples of work on display. I am a member of the Ithaca Farmers Market and have a booth at the Sunday IFM where I sell a variety of quilted items including quilts, table runners, wall hangings and bags.
I received a lot of positive feedback as a result of a 6-week display of my quilts at Satori Salon and Spa this winter.
About My Services:
Take a few minutes to browse through my website and view some of my quilting projects in the Gallery section. I look forward to talking with you about your ideas for the finishing of your quilt. I can make suggestions or comments based on quilts that I have completed and I can show you a photo album of completed quilts. It is very important that we talk by phone or email about your project to insure that you will be pleased with your finished quilt.
I have a nice selection of thread colors from King Tut, Signature and YLI. My selection of quilting patterns is ever growing with designs from Sweet Dreams Quilt Studio, Patterns by Tammy Finkler, Designs by Vickie, Hillbrook Studio and Legacy Quilting. Check out my links page for these websites. Every quilt begins with a new needle!
